Darker berries are black with a purple core. Deeply pigmented people were said to be so Black, they were purple. The old folk saying gave reverence and beautified a hue that so many aligned with gloom. Being born in Los Angeles, California, purple shares space with gold as representative LA culture. My birthplace in Watts was in the part of town where they hang Jordan upside down (purple is highly regarded).  Purple is regal, home, antiquity and Blackness. There is pride in knowing that purple was the noble's chosen hue. I often remind myself that we too are a chosen people.

The color purple to me is antiquity and vintage. I like my love like I like my vintage; let it be quality, authentic,  appreciate over time, let it be generational, good for the environment and handled with care.
